labyrinth passages

Joy!  Today I created my own labyrinth, right in my own backyard!  My tools: a dream, a can of blue paint, a ruler and a spacious yard.

I walked my labyrinth and felt energy pulse within my body with every step.  I did not tread lightly.  Each step represented an intention to follow my one path.  I know my destination, my constant companion as I go forward.  I do not know what will happen along my way, and that is a welcome certainty.  My ability to stay on my path with all the wonderful and challenging encounters that will come before me help me to be successful in reaching my goal.  As it has been along the journey to today, so it will be into the future.

I love the way I am held within the arms of this web.  I am secure in knowing that whatever happens, I am safe.  If I fall, the net is there to catch me.  If I feel lost, I need only take one step to find myself again on the path.  I can fly as high as I might and never lose touch with the ground upon which I travel.  I can take repose and be supported by the depth and breath of this ancient path.  Can you feel the power of this space?  Can you experience it as a metaphor for the universe?  Embrace the love and compassion that surrounds you and be supported with each and every step you take toward your destination.

If you are wondering what a labyrinth is, please visit www.veriditas.org.  I was inspired to do this after having completed Labyrinth Facilitator Training this past June.  The training was lead by Lauren Artress, Founder of Veriditas, Reverend and Psychologist, Coach and Author.  You can read about the labyrinth in Lauren’s book, “Walking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice.”  To learn how to use the labyrinth, read her book, “The Sacred Path Companion: A Guide to Walking the Labyrinth to Heal and Transform.”

Be Well, Kathy
